I had to stop and breathe before I could write this review because this book MOVES! I adored the energy and depth of feelings in Fatal Love and new readers as well as old fans are sure to love it as much as I did. Where else could I laugh when bullets were flying and people I love were in danger? Misty Evans always creates such amazing characters that they feel like personal friends and she carries me through their adventures right alongside these awesome people.The battle over names for the baby is not the only fight that this group faces as Baby Reese is about to make his (no her) appearance; truly intense moments go well beyond B's contractions as a vengeful villian approaches their home. "Adore" is a strange word to use for a book that includes danger and violence but where else will one find a woman in the midst of contractions ready to fight to protect her man. In addition to Trace and Maggie, Sabrina and Connor put aside inner fears and jump into action to defend their boss when all front line members of the Force are scattered around the globe. I have been looking forward to discovering more about those two background members of the Force since we first met them. I still am still anxious to read their full stories, but it is great to see them in action.
I was thrilled to get to read an advanced readers copy of Fatal Love because I love the Shadow Force International series and Deadly Force, the SCVC Taskforce book that introduced us to B and Cal, is one of my favorite of Ms. Evans romance suspense novels. The review is completely voluntary. I review every book that I love. I loved it so much that I preordered a copy!

Geez— a little over the top with all the shootings and terror just as a baby is going to be born! Should have had the baby in a hospital! It was good having all the team together and it was a good HEA. - for now!
It is time for Cal and Beatrice to welcome their baby to the world but will they manage to have the baby before a terrorist attacks? This novella is a standalone story but it helps to read the prior books to gain an understanding of the story.
I'm not a huge fan of novellas that bridge the gap between books because, generally, they can be added in to the books before and/or after and make as much sense.
It's a good story. Quick read. Worth reading if you have been reading the entire series for sure.
What a wild ride Cal and Queen B experience while waiting for the long awaited birth of their son/daughter. So exciting, the plot moves like racehorse, engaging firefights, revenge, a budding relationship, a birth under duress .... And more. I started this book late in the evening but sleep was far from my mind when I was sucked into the story. Yes, I wanted more and am eagerly awaiting Misty Evans next instalment to this series.
While this story took place over just a couple of days, during the time that one of the Shadow Force leaders and her husband birthed a baby, all hell broke loose. Bad guys surrounded them in one way or another before and during the home birth of the baby. But the Shadow Force team skilfully handled the invading criminals, the gun fire, a planted bomb and fireworks. A bit over the top, but very exciting.
Cal and Beatrice are finally getting the future they've dreamed of. Their baby is due any time and they couldn't be happier. Beatrice, as always, has things under control and Cal is his usual protective self. The whole company is anxiously awaiting the baby's arrival, and learning if they'll have a little boy or girl to love.
However, though they've already endured so much to have their future together, there's one more obstacle standing in their way when Cal's past comes back with a vengeance and it's target is his beloved wife, Beatrice.
It will take every available friend and employee, including Connor and Sabrina who just may find their own happiness together, to persevere and triumph yet again.
One-click now and follow along as Cal and Beatrice prepare for their first child and realize just how loved he or she will be among the family they've created within SFI. I highly recommend this series and reading the books in order. You'll thank me.

As Beatrice and Cal rush home so that she can give birth, a deadly enemy waits to destroy their happiness and end their lives. Cal is determined to save his wife and child, but he and his SFI employee/bodyguard, Trace Hunter, are outnumbered. I was on the edge of my seat as their ruthless enemy invaded. Cal calls for help and Connor and Sabrina rush to help their friends. This is such an intense story. I worried about B. She's a strong woman, but this enemy wants blood. Cal is willing to sacrifice himself for his family. Connor and Sabrina make a great addition to the team. Their attraction adds spice to this tense story. Misty Evans has written a series filled with powerful characters, non-stop action and the fight for justice. I'm a fan is Shadow Force International. I can't wait for more.
